OUR ASSISTANT PASTOR
Pastor William Thompson Jr. was licensed in March of 1987 under the late Rev. S.W. Watson at Greater New Testament Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Pastor Thompson later attended the Good-Better-Best School of Ministry at the Christian United People’s Center. After which, God called him to organize. Inspirational Gospel Missionary Baptist Church was established October of 1992 and Pastor Thompson was ordained and installed as senior pastor in November of the same year. He believes that all should humble themselves and be taught the word of God. He stated, “Having knowledge of God is not enough; we must be living examples of God’s word every day.”
Inspirational Gospel Missionary Baptist Church was organized in the home of Pastor Thompson located at 10322 Rosehaven Drive, Houston, TX, (Blueridge area of Sunnyside) and later relocated to 16747 Quail Park Drive, Missouri City, Texas (Quail Run Subdivision). He later joined partnership with a longtime family friend, Pastor Isaiah Dillingham, of Christ’s Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church at 9404 Dulcimer Street, Houston, Texas, also in the Blueridge area. When Pastor Dillingham passed away, the church members voted and installed Pastor Thompson as senior pastor in March of 2009. He continued services, until his health required him to retire from full duty as a pastor. After consulting with Pastor Louis Campbell II, a new minister was elected and installed as the senior pastor along with a church merger and name change in January of 2017. At this time Rev. Thompson was named Pastor Emeritus of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church.
As years went by, Pastor Thompson and his family was led by God to join Love Missionary Baptist Church in November of 2021 in the Yellowstone area of Houston. Under the leadership of Pastor Louis Campbell II, he became the assistant pastor. Still with the zeal to continue teaching and training men and women to take a firm stand for God, Pastor Thompson continues to inspire us all to not just know the word of God but be living examples of it through his Pastoral Inspiration every Sunday morning. Pastor Thompson still believes that if God’s word inspires you, you should be a living example of inspiration to others; and together we will grow in the knowledge, wisdom, grace, and love of God’s word.
